Weekly Milage Report: Vacation week....

Bemis Mountain in the Winter...

This week was funky. I didn't run as many of my miles as advised per the marathon matrix. However, the week was filled with intense-moderate exercise that I feel would supplement more than adequately for my lack of miles. On Monday I ran 5.2 miles, Wednesday was 7.8, Thursday was another 5.2 mile day. On Tuesday I swam quite a lot, and walked a rigorous 2 miles. Friday also walked another moderate walk of 3 miles or more. And on Saturday Mike and I climbed the Bemis Mountain Peaks near the beginning of the Appalachian Trail. It was about a 2 mile walk in and then a 4 or 5 mile hike up to the peak...very steep terrain up 3,562 feet about sea level. It took us about 2 hours to summit the second peak, and then we started our journey down. The whole trip took us from 9:30 AM until 2:00 PM. I guess I don't feel that guilty about missing my miles this week, but next week I will be busting out the miles with some more energy, and hopefully more stamina.
